Obituary

Richard E. Lazazzera, 60 of Franklin died October 15 at Caritas Norwood Hospital after a long battle with ALS. He was the husband of Deborah L. (Sullivan) Lazazzera.
Born in Haverhill, January 25, 1947 the son of the late Lino and Madeline (Zwicker) Lazazzera, Mr. Lazazzera was raised in Haverhill and had lived in Franklin for the past 27 years.
He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Northern Essex Community College and he received both BS and MS from Lowell Technical Institute (Now the University of Massachusetts in Lowell).
Mr. Lazazzera had been an engineer at the Fairbanks Scales Company in Bellingham for 5 years.
He had previously worked for the Waters Company in Milford as a field service engineer and the head of customer service and support for 16 years.
Mr. Lazazzera had also operated Northeast Carpentry Inc. for many years.
Mr. Lazazzera loved to buy and sell antiques and was known as the “Glass Man”. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding, boating and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy M. Lazazzera of Franklin and his son, Daniel W. Lazazzera of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Lazazzera of Bradford, Mass. and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lawrence Lazazzera.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 18 in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway from 4-8 p.m.
Services and burial will be private.
The family had requested that flowers be omitted and donations be made in his memory to the Massachusetts General Hospital Angel Fund, 649 Main St., Wakefield, MA 01880.
