Obituary


William A. Sullivan (Bill), 80, of Salem, NH and formerly a long time resident of Lawrence died Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. Born in Lawrence on August 9th, 1927, he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes (McKenna) Sullivan. Bill was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1945.

Bill was employed for 35 years as a purchasing agent for the General Tire Co., Bolta Division in Lawrence and the Gividi Glass Co. in Bradford before his retirement. Mr. Sullivan service in the US Coast Guard on the USS General William Weigel until his honorable discharge. He was a member of the Lawrence Hibernians, Lawrence, Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.

Mr. Sullivan was proud of his Irish heritage and loved to listen to Celtic music. He was an avid follower of local high school football and marching bands. Bill enjoyed spending family vacations on Nantucket Island as well as the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

He was the widower of the late Claire (Daley) Sullivan. Bill is survived by his three daughters, Joan Pavlenkov of Londonderry, NH, Eileen Couture of Derry, NH, and Barbara and her husband Michael Amicangioli of Derry,NH.
Bill leaves one sister, Edna Arnfield and her husband Robert of Salem, NH and one brother Frank and his wife Ruth Sullivan of Lawrence, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements: Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
