Clifford A. Playdon, 72, of Fieldstone Dr., Londonderry died Wednesday December 12, 2001 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester following a sudden illness. Mr. Playdon was born in Lawrence, Ma, on September 3, 1929, the son of the late, Leon H. and Helen A. (Kent) Playdon. He had resided in Londonderry since 1976, formerly living in Salem. Mr. Playdon was a 1947 graduate of Salem High School. He retired in 1999 from Teradyne Corp., Nashua where he had been employed for 20 years. He was very active in the ministry of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses , Londonderry.
He is survived by his wife, Elvira R. (Holzberger) Playdon, Londonderry, his daughter, Regina M. Mailloux, Manchester, four brothers, Harry Playdon, Hampstead, John Playdon, Lawrence, Ma, Robert Playdon of Maine, Richard Playdon, Dunbarton, three sisters, Anne Playdon, Melodie Playdon and Dorothy Greenfield all of Salem, also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Playdon who died this past spring.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held on Saturday December 15th at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 10 Kendall Pond Rd., Londonderry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry is handling arrangements.
