Salem: Therese C. (Frechette) Corbin age 86, a resident of the Heritage at Danvers, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at the NSMC / Salem Hospital. She was the wife of the late Victor A. Corbin, Jr.
Born in and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Marie Ange (Paquette) Frechette. Therese very much enjoyed being a homemaker for husband, 7 children and later on, memere to her 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She loved life and always enjoyed new experiences. Her interest in trying new things and being active remained with her when she moved into Heritage at Danvers assisted living community. She easily made friends and assisted new residents with settling into the new environment. Therese maintained a busy schedule by signing up for any outing, activity or making recommendations for new desserts.
A resident of Salem for most of her life, prior to her marriage, she worked for Sylvania, and later, during the early 1970’s worked for the Food Services Department at Salem State College. Therese and her late husband were very active in the activities of Ste. Anne Parish including the rebuilding of the church. She was always grateful that they were able to travel in their retirement years.
She is survived by 5 sons: Victor L. Corbin & his wife Janice of Tewksbury, Robert R. & his wife Jeannelle of Farmington Hills, MI, Gerard J. & his wife Jane of Tewksbury, Normand D. & his wife Linda of Northboro, George A. & his wife Jennifer of Alpharetta, GA, 2 daughters: Collette C. Wilkinson & her husband David of Beverly, Claire M. Lomme & her husband Robert of Dracut, 2 sisters: Celine Bouchard of Cocoa, FL, Madeleine Frechette of Peabody, a sister-in-law Lucille Blanchette of Peabody, 13 grandchildren: Michael, Keith, Christopher, Adam, Stephen, Matthew, Brendan, Nathan, Lisette and Jenna Corbin, Erin Cheney, Nicole & Benjamin Lomme. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 6 sisters: Catherine Pelletier, Geraldine LeBlanc, Rita Pelletier, Cecile Frechette, Lucienne Phaup & Rose Levasseur, 6 brothers: Roland, Raymond, Philip, Alphonse, Gerald & Anthony Frechette.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Monday, October 15, 2007, at 10 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Salem at 11 am. Visiting hours: Sunday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
