Michael J. Glennon, 80, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mr. Glennon was born in Boston, MA on July 12, 1927, a son of the late John J. and Julia (Sullivan) Glennon. He was a resident of Derry since February 2006, formerly living in Pickens, SC and Ipswich, MA. He was a US Navy WWII veteran. Mr. Glennon had been employed as a truck driver for Laidlaw and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed farming.
He is survived by his brother, Jack Glennon of Hobe Sound, FL; his sister, Marie Falcon of Leesburg, FL; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores T. (Gormley) Glennon in 2006 and a son Michael Glennon.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NH Chapter, 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, NH 03110. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
