Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 9am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Sorrow Convent Chapel, 261 Thatcher St., Brockton at 10am. Sister Margaret “Daniel” Crowley suddenly entered into Eternal Life Friday December 27, 2002. Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Margaret M. (Clougherty) Crowley. She attended Medford schools, and was a graduate of Medford High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Spaulding College, Louisville, KY. She worked for the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Immigration and Naturalization, and entered into the Sisters of Nazareth in 1943, professing her vows July 19, 1949. Her first mission was Yazoo City, Mississippi. She taught in Kentucky. She returned to Massachusetts in 1952 where she continued her ministry until her death. She was a former Principal of St. Thomas More School, Braintree, St. Edward School, Brockton, St. Patrick School, Brockton, and St. Ann’s School, Wollaston. In 1975, she began her health care career in Carney Hospital, Dorchester. In 1990, she became Chaplain at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton, MA where she was the first recipient of the Good Samaritan Caring Award. For the past several years she has been living in Our Lady of Sorrow Convent, Brockton.
She is survived by two sisters Dorothea M. Lyons of Wilmington, formerly of Arlington and Virginia A. Curtin of East Bridgewater, formerly of Readville, 11 nieces, 16 nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was the sister of the late John F. Crowley, Daniel F. Crowley Joseph G. Crowley and William F. Crowley
