Margaret "Margie" (Upton) Fitzpatrick, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Tuesday October 9, 2007 at her home in Charlestown after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.
Margie was born in Boston, grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools. Margie, along with her husband were the owners of Jopa's Pizza Shop on Bunker Hill St. in Charlestown for several years. She was also a devoted homemaker, taking care of her husband and children.
Margie is the beloved wife of Joseph "Jopa" Fitzpatrick. She is the devoted mother of Joseph J. Fitzpatrick and his wife Jean, Dawn M. Ferreira, Daniel Fitzpatrick and his wife Pamela and Dana R. Fitzpatrick. She is the loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Melvin Upton, Charlie, Herbie and John Upton, Emily Lorino, Maureen Doherty, Blanche Demling, Ruthie Capraro and the late Joseph Upton.
Margie's Funeral will be held on Saturday October 13, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Margie will be held on Friday October 12, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
