Worcester – Jerome Dixon, 83, of Worcester and formerly of Burlington, VT died on Wednesday, October 10, in his home after an illness.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife of 55 years Lorraine I. (Lavallee) Dixon of Worcester; three sons Jeff and his wife Sandra of Oakham, Gary, and Randy and his wife Susan all of Worcester; two granddaughters Melissa and Danielle and her fiancé Rene and a great grandson Michael. He is predeceased by two brothers Francis and Aaron Dixon.
Mr. Dixon was the son of George and Martine Dixon of Winosioki, VT. When he first got married he was working at McKenzie’s Packaging in VT. He moved to Worcester and started at Reed Roll Thread and retired from there at the age of 62.
Mr. Dixon was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW in Vermont. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of St. Peter’s Church.
He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Private funeral services will be held. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is directing arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
