W.A. Reeves, 74, of Irwinville, died Tuesday, October 9, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 11, at Irwinville Baptist Church, with Rev. Wayne Davis, Rev. Sonny Pate and Doug Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Irwinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Reeves was born September 11, 1933 to the late Howard L. and Millie L. Tomberlin Reeves. He lived in the community most of his life and was a 1950 graduate of Irwinville High School. Mr. Reeves was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a farmer and former owner/operator of the Irwinville Trading Post and W.A. Reeves Trucking, Inc. He served as the Irwin County Coroner for 14 years and was former director of the Peanut Producer’s Association. Mr. Reeves was a member and Deacon of Irwinville Baptist Church.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mazie Davis Reeves of Irwinville; daughters & sons-in-law, Darlene & Jim Clees of St. Petersburg, FL and Sherry & Reggie King of Irwinville; son & daughter-in-law, Randy & Lori Reeves of Ocilla; grandchildren, Miranda (Greg) Potter, Lori (David) Simpson, Ryan King, Karlee King, Jennifer Clees and Sarah Clees; great grandchild, Aubrey Simpson; brothers and sister, Hulin Reeves and Bobby Reeves, both of Fitzgerald and Carolyn King of Tifton.
