Richard V. Cuff, 47, of West Tisbury died December 25, 2002 unexpectedly at home.
He was the husband of Alison B. (Bryant) Cuff, and son of Laura (Doll) Cuff-Menard of New Bedford and the late Joseph D. Cuff.
Mr. Cuff was born in Philadelphia, Penn., and had lived in New Bedford, Maine and Martha's Vineyard.
He was a self-employed carpenter and contractor who was the proprietor of Everything Renovations. He was a talented craftsman and had a great love for boats and the sea.
Mr. Cuff served in the U.S. Navy. He had an engaging and witty manner was a gentle soul. He had a keen interest in history and his travels inspired a desire to learn more about far away lands.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; his former wife, Nancy Cuff Bigelow of Bath, Maine; 5 sons, Joshua J. Cuff of Topsham, Maine, Jacob S. Cuff, Graham D. Cuff and Christian R. Cuff, all of Bath, Maine, and Daniel R. Cuff, who lives with his mother, Donna Bouchard, of Oak Bluffs; a daughter, Jessica B. Cuff of Bath; 2 stepsons, Morgan A. Child and Jesse C. Child, both of West Tisbury; a sister, Margaret G. Cuff-Quinones, and her husband Jose, of New Bedford; a granddaughter, Sophia R. Cuff of Topsham; a nephew, Matthew J. Cuff of New Bedford; and a step-sister, Richelle Menard of New Bedford, and her children, A.J. Cardona and Rebecca Colwell, both of New Bedford.
He was the brother of the late Joseph D. Cuff, Jr. and grandson of the late George Waters and Margaret (Golden) Doll.
