Obituary

Anna C. (Rebak) Baptista, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday, Oct 8 at her home after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of Armand L. Baptista. Born in East Boston, she was a graduate of East Boston Schools. Mrs. Baptista was a resident of Stoughton for over 40 years. She worked as a Telephone Operator for Plymouth Rubber in Canton for over 34 years, retiring in 2001. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, bowling and traveling.

In addition to her husband Armand, she is survived by her children, Capt. (Ret.) Armand L. “Skip” Baptista, USN, of VA, Claudia A. Nichols of NH, and EO2 John E. Baptista, USNR, of GA. Also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, October 12 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Service at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 8 Addison Ave at Washington Ave, Chelsea at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
