Obituary

PHILADELPHIA, PA__Sr. M. Aquila Bartosiewicz C.S.F.N., 90, died Sunday October 7, in Mount Nazareth, Philadelphia, PA. She recently celebrated her 70 years vocation as a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Sister leaves a brother, John J. Bartosiewicz and his wife Genevieve of Worcester, MA., three nephews, John James Bartosiewicz of Worcester; John Joseph Bartosiewicz of Millbury, MA., and Michael Francis Bartosiewicz of Grafton, MA., a niece, Catherine Stephanie Murphy of Worcester, and grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Napoleon and Frank Bartosiewicz and Brother Emmanuel Bartosiewicz O.F.M. Sister was born in 1917 in Worcester, a daughter of John and Katarzyna (Domkowski) Bartosiewicz.

Sisterr Aquila was most recently assigned to prayer ministry for the Archdiocese of Phiadelphia at Mount Nazareth, Philadelphia. She was a registered nurse, teacher and occupational therapist. She spent most of her nursing career at Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia and also worked at Little Flower House of Providence, Wading River, NY. She taught at Nativity of Our Lord School in Baltimore, MD. She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Worcester, and graduated from Nazareth Academy, Philadelphia. She received her nursing education at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Altoona, PA.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday October 10 with a Mass at 5:00 p.m. at Mount Nazareth, Philadelphia. A prayer service will be conducted Wednesday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. in Mount Nazareth, followed by a viewing at 4:00 p.m. in Nazareth Academy, Torrisdale, PA. Burial will be in Torrisdale. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Worcester at a later date.
