Estelle (Kessler) Smith, 77, a resident of Delray Beach, FL & formerly of Everett entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2007 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Herman C. Smith.
Born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Jack & Lillian (Solomon) Kessler, Estelle was raised in Revere where she attended school & graduated from Revere High School. She went on to earn her business degree from Fisher College in Boston. Estelle was employed as the credit manager for the Leonard Silver Company in Chelsea. She was a life member of Cong. Tifereth Israel of Everett as well as the Temple Sisterhood, life member of Hadassah, life member of the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home Auxiliary, Friends of the Blind, City of Hope, & New England Villages. Her true passion was her family, knitting, & mah-jongg.
Estelle is survived by 3 sons, Jack R. Smith & his wife Patricia of Cape Coral, FL, Larry B. Smith & his wife Annette of Lake Worth, FL & Allan A. Smith & his wife Cynthia of Litchfield, NH; 5 grandchildren, Joseph, Jared, Allyson, Justin, & Gregory; 2 sisters-in-law, Pearl Kessler of Sharon & Annette Smith of Canton; & several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Norton Kessler & sister-in-law of the late Sumner Smith.
Funeral services will be held in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rabbi Nehemia Polen will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery in Everett. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Mrs. Pearl Kessler in Sharon on Wednesday & at the home of Larry & Annette Smith, Lake Worth, FL on Friday.
