Monique was born on September 24, 1923 at Anse-a-Veau, Haiti. She was the second daughter of Aroville Supre and Veronique Chalie and was the third oldest of nine brothers and sisters.
In her late twenties, Monique moved to Port-au-Prince. There she met Gerard Edouard and had three children. In 1983, she left Haiti and moved to the United States to live with her children. Monique was a religious person. I can always remember her praying mornings and before bed. She truly loved praying and it seems that she prayed for everyone that she had ever met. She never passed a Catholic Church without making the sign of the cross. She always had the uncanny ability to always know the location of the next Catholic Church on her way home. As a matter of fact, that's how I became aware of all the Catholic churches on the way between my house in Waltham and her house in Malden.
Monique was a very conservative person and really kept to herself. Although she kept to her self, she was a friendly, loving and caring person once you got to know her. She loved watching her soap operas on TV and would wait at night to dicuss the daily soaps with her daughter, Christine.
Monique leaves behind her three beloved children, Christine, Jacques and Bob, two daughter-in-laws, Juanita and Marie Claude, three sisters, Therese, Louise and Ninon, three brothers, Florest, Bellamy and Antoine, six grandchildren, Jacques, Jr., Junelle, Jacquette, Jordan, Jarod and Janeria. She also leaves three great grandchildren, Jayquan, Jeneva and Jajanay as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Monique, we all love you very much, we miss you, Mom and may you rest in peace!
