Franklin—Mrs. Mary Jeanette (Calcagni) Marguerite 92, passed away Friday evening October 5, 2007 surrounded by her family, at the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Marguerite, who died December 4, 2003, at that time they had celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Born January 7, 1915 in North Attleboro, Ma a daughter of the late Luigi and Philomena (Germani) Calcagni she had lived in North Attleboro in her early years before moving to Franklin.
She was educated in North Attleboro schools and attended North Attleboro High School and was a graduate of St. Mary’s School, which she was very proud of.
She was employed at the former Medway Hat Shop, Boston Quilting of City Mills, the Leo J. Murray Co. and retired in 1978 from the Whiting & Davis Company in Plainville, where she worked as a jewelry assembler for over 20 years.
Mary enjoyed life to the fullest, she was dedicated to her family and her home and loved to dance with her late husband Tony, she also loved to sing, be a clown with jokes and always was an entertainer. Her family and friends will always remember her fantastic personality. She loved to cook for her family in the home where she lived for 60 years. To her daughter and son and grandchildren she was a princess.
Mary was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens and enjoyed spending her time at the center, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
She is survived by a daughter Anne M. Robinson and her husband William of North Attleboro, a son Carl A. Marguerite and his wife Joanne of Franklin, a grandson William Robinson Jr. of Vernon, Ct., three granddaughters Carla Kalifrath and her husband Michael of Millbury, Lora Marguerite of Quincy, and Sara Whalen and her husband Derik of Franklin, and four great grandchildren Maxwell, Nicholas, Riley and Lily. She is also survived by a sister Mildred Tosches of Grafton and four sisters in laws Molly Calcagni of North Attleboro, Angie Cook of Plainville, Edith Sabbag of Franklin, Emma Young of Medway, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Philip, Joseph and Anthony Calcagni, Virginia Paiano and Etta Crivello.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday October 10, 2007 at 9:15am from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. FRANKLIN (www.oterifuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday October 9, 2007 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
