Obituary

CHARLTON – Garrett P. Leonard, 63, died Friday, October 5, at Mass. General Hospital, Boston.

He leaves his beloved companion of 17 years, Charlotte A. Lawrence; his dear brother, Vaughn Leonard and his wife Eileen of Lincoln, RI; and several cousins. He also leaves his beloved cat Snowflake and his German shepherd Major.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Clayton and Elizabeth (Stearns) Leonard. He lived in Worcester for over 20 years before moving here in 1997.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Leonard was a mechanical contractor. He owned and operated Worcester Boiler for 27 years. He was still active in his business.

He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #4, the Local 57 Iron Workers, and the National Association of Power Engineers, Mass. Chapter 32.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 10, at 11:00 AM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday, October 9, in the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to Second Chance Cat Shelter, 111 Young Road, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
