New Bedford-Mary (Arruda) Souza age 87 years died Friday October 5, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward Souza Sr. She was the mother of Edward Jr. and his wife Linda M. Souza. She was the sister of the late Manuel Arruda. She was the loving grandmother of Kevin Souza, Shelly M. Taffe, Shawn Souza, and Heidi L. Souza, and great-grandmother of Kristina, Kevin Jr., Gentry, Torin, Ryan, Kendyn, and Aidan. She was the Godmother and Aunt of Linda Smith of South Carolina, 2 Nephews, and another Niece.
Mrs. Souza’s was the daughter of the late Egidio M. Arruda and Maria (DosSantos) Balsa. Her greatest joy in life was her family.
Mrs. Souza’s Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
