Delia P. Feeney, 90, died peacefully Friday, October 05, 2007 at her Winchester home she shared with her niece and caregiver Mary Beth Connolly. Miss Feeney joined the faculty of Massasoit Community College as an English professor when it was founded 40 years ago and was a beloved member of the faculty for many years.
At mid-life, she enrolled in college and became the first member of her family to graduate from college, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College, and a Master’s Degree and Doctrate in Education from Boston University.
Born on March 29, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Kane) and Patrick Feeney. Besides Miss Connolly, Miss Feeney is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary Cadogan Lawrence of Los Angeles, CA, Margaret P. Schleicher of Winchester, Margaret Devine of Hart’s Location, NH, Joan McGillicuddy of Jupiter, FL, Dorothy C. Fletcher of Sherwood, OR, John J. Connolly of Reading, John Cadogan of Weymouth and William Cadogan of Naples, FL
Funeral from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Wed. Oct. 10th at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 10AM. Visitation Wed. morning from 8:30-9:30AM only. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
