Willie Frances Yawn Marchant, 86, or Perry, Florida, formerly of Tifton, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Marshall's Nursing Home in Perry, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Olin Hamlin will officiate with burial to follow on Friday, October 5, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be at 1102 East 12th Street in Tifton.
Ms. Marchant was born on November 24, 1920 in Tift County and was the daughter of Joe Yawn and Minnie Brooks Yawn, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. T. Marchant; one brother, J. T. Yawn; and one sister, Thelma Horne. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church. Until her sickness, she had lived in Tift County all of her life.
Ms. Marchant is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William Edward and Brenda Marchant of Steinhatchee, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Ellis Camp of Carrabelle, Florida; two sisters, Iona Woodard of Ty Ty and Mamie Lee Pate of Chula; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
