Obituary

Joan A. (Bounker) Marchand, 74, of Blackstone, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on March 4, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Normand and Edna (Ledger) Bounker. Mrs. Marchand was a resident of Blackstone for the past 5 years and formerly resided in Franklin and Medway.

Retiring in 2007, she was a bookkeeper for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the past 27 years.

She is survived by her children, William J. Marchand, III of Hyannis, Maryanne Marchand of Blackstone, John F. Marchand of Charlotte, North Carolina, Melissa C. Marchand of Blackstone, Francis P. Machand of Blackstone, James M. Marchand of Franklin, Normand R. Marchand of Centerville and Therese J. Doiron of Uxbridge.

She is also survived by two sisters, Linda Favreau and Kathy Peterson, both of Waltham, twenty grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her former husband, William J. Marchand, Jr.

She was the grandmother of the late William J. Knapp.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway on Thursday, October 4 at 10 a.m.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home,3 Barber St. in Medway.
