Lester N. Fowler,92 a lifelong resident of Abington, died Sunday September 30th in the Colony House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Doris L. (Tobey) Fowler. He was born in Brookline, son of the late Henry E. and Flossie (Tarleton) Fowler. He was employed for 25 years by the Abington Public Schools as a custodian. He was a very dedicated member of the United Church of Christ in Abington, also a member of the John Cutler Masonic Lodge in Abington. Lester enjoyed bowling and was a cribbage player. He is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters, Roy Fowler of Florida, Gerald Fowler of Hyannis, Virginia Burns of Abington, Joyce MacDonald of Rockland, also 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Kenneth Fowler and brother of the late Ralph, Vernon, and William Fowler.
His funeral service will be held Thursday October 4th at 10:00 A. M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Inc, Plymouth Street (Rt 58 at the Rotary Circle), Whitman, MA. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson, MA. Visiting hours Wednesday October 3rd 3-7 P.M. Masonic Services will be held at 6:30 PM.
