Catherine T. (Connor) Powers a Salem, NH resident for the past 42 years died Wednesday at her son’s home in Salem, NH, she was 87 years old.
Mrs. Powers was born in Worcester, MA and was the daughter of the late Fred J. and Catherine T. (Mulcahey) Connor. She attended Worcester schools, graduated from South High School and also graduated from Worcester State Teachers College in 1937 where she earned her B. S. in education. She taught in Worcester and Auburn, MA elementary schools before coming to Salem, NH. Mrs. Powers taught third and fourth grade for 17 years at the Haigh School in Salem, NH and retired in 1979.
She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, the New Hampshire Retired Teachers Association, the Salem Retired Educators Association, the NEA – NH, the AARP, the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Holy Name # 1425 and Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH.
She was the widow of John E. Powers who died in 1992

7 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am at Mary Queen Of Peace Church in Salem, NH followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem.
