Obituary

Daniel F. Doerr, 77, of Londonderry, NH died September 29, 2007 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH after a lengthy illness. He was born in New York City on January 28, 1930, a son of the late George and Madeline (Trumpf) Doerr. Raised in New York City, he served in the U.S. Navy and following his discharge was briefly employed in the retail field. He began a career as a GM parts man at several dealerships. He was employed for many years at Karl Chevrolet in New Canaan, CT and retired as the Parts Manager. A former resident of Norwalk, CT, he has resided in Londonderry for the past seven years. Mr. Doerr was an active member of the Londonderry Senior Center. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing poker. He was also involved with raising dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille (Morel) Doerr of Londonderry; a daughter, Deborah Hyatt of Trumbull, CT; two sons, Eugene Doerr of Remsen, NY and Kenneth Doerr of Hudson, NH; six grandchildren, Jake, Shaina, Ian, Alexis, Taylor and Sydney; a brother, Edward Doerr of Vermont; a sister, Helen Allison of California; and also by several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Karen Doerr.

There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 10:00am at the Londonderry Senior Center, 535 Mammoth Rd, Londonderry. Daniel left a final message for his friends to quit smoking and suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Breathe NH, 9 Cedarwood Drive, Unit 12, Bedford, NH 03110.
