
Vera E. (Gates) Leggee, 89, of Medway, died, Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of Wilfred M. Leggee who died in 1982.
Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia on October 1, 1917, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Myrtle A. (Ralph) Gates. She was a resident of Medway since 1939 and was a homemaker all her life.
Mrs. Leggee was a member of the King’s Daughters and the Eastern Star. A resident at the Medway Country Manor for the past 9 years, she was an active participant of the many activities there and was past president of the Resident’s Council.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn J. Brown and her husband, Richard and Susan A. Di Iulio and her husband, Richard, all of Medway, two granddaughters, Jeanne E. Coffey of Nahant and Kathleen M. O’Brien of South Berwick, Maine and one great-grandson.
She is also survived by four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was a sister of the late Harold and Ernest Gates.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, October 1 at 11 a.m. in the Ginley – Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com), 3 Barber St. in Medway. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m.
