WORCESTER
Angel L. Betancourt, 51, of Worcester passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends on Wed. Sept. 26. He leaves his wife of 21 years, Maria C. (Mejia) Betancourt; five children, Luis, Ivan, Tony, Angelica and her husband Francisco and LaSandra; eight grandchildren, Meghan, Kyle, Brittany, Kayla, Ariane, Francisco, Donovan and Sebastian; two brothers, Manuel and Enrique; nieces and nephews; cousins and aunts and uncles, including a special uncle, Fernando Betancourt. He was born in Puerto Rico, son of Cruz Betancourt and Guillermina Quinones.
Angel was a family oriented man and loved to entertain in his back yard for friends and family with cook outs and pig roasts.
The funeral will be held Mon. Oct. 1, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Paul's Cathedral, 15 Chatham St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Sun., Sept. 30, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Family and Friends are invited to a gathering at the Worcester Lodge of Elks, 233 Mill St. following the services.
