Mrs. Mary (Terry) Bartow of Andover, beloved wife of Leslie S. Bartow, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Wingate of Andover Nursing Center in Andover. She was 77 years old.
Born in Northport, New York, on April 1, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles S. and Loretta (Nelligan) Terry. Mrs. Bartow was a first grade teacher at the Sanborn School and South School in Andover for many years and retired in 1992. She was a member of the Andona Society and St. Augustine Church in Andover for many years. She was also a volunteer at St. Augustine School. Mrs. Bartow also served on several school and town councils in Andover and was Past President of her class as Keuka College, class of 1952. She was also a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
She will be sorely missed by her beloved husband, Leslie and one son and one daughter-in-law; Terry and his wife Sandy Bartow of St. Augustine, Florida, two daughters and two sons-in-law; Pam and her husband Sandro Carasso of Milan, Italy and Meg and her husband Burt Batcheller of Methuen, six grandchildren; Elliott, Tim, Kate and Samantha Bartow, David Carasso and Alec Batcheller, one sister-in-law; Ann Terry of Northport, New York and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 9 AM. Many relatives and friends attended. Calling hours were in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Friday, September 28, 2007, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
