Mary Jane “Marie” (Meegan) Baggett of Braintree, formerly of Needham died on Wednesday, September 26th at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was 71 years old. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary G. (O’Donnell) Meegan. Marie grew up in Roslindale and was a graduate of Roslindale High School Class of 1953. She worked for Boston Gas until she left to raise her family. Mrs. Baggett loved to travel and was an avid Boston College athletics fan. Most of all, she loved spending time with her 5 grandchildren. The beloved wife of the late Robert F. Baggett, she was the loving mother of Robert M. Baggett of Norwood, Janice O’Brien and her husband Michael of Cohasset and Julie Gardiner and her husband Roger of West Barnstable. Sister of Marilyn Foxx and Charles E. Meegan both of Westwood and the late Joseph P. Meegan Jr. Cherished Nana of Michael, Jenna and Kyle O’Brien and Matthew and Kirsten Gardiner. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Monday, October 1st at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
