Rita L. (Peloquin) Godin 88, formerly of Thibault Ave died Tuesday at the Oakland Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Eugene Godin to whom she was married for 65 years.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Armand and Marie-Louise (Tellier) Peloquin and was a lifelong Woonsocket resident. Mrs. Godin was a sewer for various area textile mills for 40 years retiring in 1982.
She is survived by a son Robert and his wife Lorraine (Auger) Godin of Simsbury, CT, a daughter Dotti and her husband Charles Mondoux of North Smithfield, four grandchildren; Philippe Godin of Eatontown NJ, Michelle Mondoux of Washington DC, Casey Mondoux of Woonsocket, and Ashleigh Mondoux of North Smithfield. In addition she is survived by a sister Constance Blais and her husband Gerard of Woonsocket, and a brother Eugene Peloquin of North Smithfield.
Mrs. Godin was also the sister of the late Gerald, Normand, Raymond, Roger and Doris Peloquin. She was also the aunt of the late Raymond Blais.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. in St. Agatha’s Church Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
