Obituary

SALAH- Of Gloucester, formerly of Malden, September 26th. Devoted husband of 25 years to the late Alma (DeAngelis). Beloved brother of Adele Kelly, John Salah and his wife Eleanor all of Gloucester and the late Evelyn Mann, Frieda Bryson, Eunice Karem, Teresa Salah, Edward, Samuel and James Salah. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Fred, at 95 years of age, passed away peacefully at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester after a brief illness. Born in Boston on February 28th, 1912 to Kahlil and Nagebe Salah, his family moved to Gloucester when Fred was 8 years old. Fred worked at the family store, Salah's Market on Sergeant Street for many years. In 1944, Fred along with his brother Ed opened and operated the popular Lebanese-American Club on Maplewood Avenue on land given to them by their father, Kahlil. He also owned and operated many other successful businesses on Cape Ann until his retirement in 1980.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Graveside Service on Saturday morning, October 6th at 10 AM in Holy Cross Cemetery, Broadway, Malden. Expressions of sympathy in Fred's name may be made to Holy Family Parish.
