Barbara E. (Johnson) Griffin of Wellesley formerly of North Andover died September 25, 2007. She was 55. She was the beloved wife of Luke A. Griffin Sr. for 35 years.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Muriel V. (Rourke) Johnson of North Andover and the late Harry W. Johnson and daughter in law of Stephen and Helen Griffin of Wellesley. She lived in Wellesley for 10 years and prior to that had lived in North Andover.
She graduated from Salem State College in 1973 and earned her Master’s in English from Northeastern in 1976. A former school teacher, she was very active in the Wellesley community. She enjoyed sewing and arts & crafts. She was a lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul’s Church.
She was the devoted mother of Stephen H. Griffin and his wife Julie of Scottsdale, AZ, Luke A. Griffin Jr. of Portland, OR, James E. Griffin of Los Angeles, CA, Amy H. Griffin of Wellesley and Allison M. Griffin of Wellesley. Sister of Ronald Johnson, Stephen Johnson and his wife Raquel and Audrey Meikle and her husband Robert all of North Andover. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley, Saturdayat 10:00 AM. Funeral mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 3-8 PM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
