WORCESTER-Harold M. Siegel, 81, of Worcester, died Sunday, September 23rd, in Westborough Healthcare Center. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Julia M. (Clancy) Siegel; a son, Robert S. Siegel and his wife Lisa of Worcester; a daughter, Janice M. Siegel of Boston; and a grandson, Christopher DeJesus of Florida. A brother, Irving Siegel and 2 sisters, Rhoda Koritz and Jeanne Shore predeceased him.
He was born in Boston, the son of Joseph and Bella (Solomon) Siegel and was a track repair and maintenance man for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority in Boston for many years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Siegel was a World War II veteran, serving in both the United States Navy and Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.
The funeral is Wednesday, September 26th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. A calling hour is from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. the morning of the funeral.
