Michael Ray Hinman, 47, of Meetinghouse Lane, Ledyard, passed away suddenly on Saturday at his home.
He was born in Westerly, RI on December 4, 1959 the loving son of Christine E. (Schramm) Hinman of Ledyard and the late Joe Hinman. He was a 1977 graduate of Ledyard High School. He was an avid Giants and Red Sox fan and enjoyed the water and boating.
Michael was employed as a carpenter at Mohegan Sun for several years before retiring due to illness.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Jacob Hinman of Mesa, AZ and Jessica Hinman of Ledyard; his siblings, Bruce Hinman of Rantoul, IL, Gary Hinman of Richmond, WA, and Dewey and Darryl Hinman, both of Ledyard, nieces and nephews.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6pm-7:45pm, immediately followed by a service at 8pm. The Rev. Mark Porizky of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Groton wil officiate.
Following cremation, his urn will be interred in the family plot at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
