Floyd Jerome Smith entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Huntsville Hospital. The youngest child of the late Eddie and Cassie Smith was born on April 18, 1956 in Enterprise, Alabama. He was baptized during his teen years at Saint Mary's Baptist Church.
Floyd graduated from Enterprise High School in 1974 where he was a star football player. He completed his secondary training at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1978 with a degree in Business Management.
He married Dionne Tobias in 1980. Floyd was employed by Limestone Correctional State Facility as a Correctional officer.
He enjoyed cooking soul food, delicacies, spending time with family and special friend and sharing humorous anecdotes.
Floyd Jerome Smith leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Jerod Smith (Kristen); one daughter, Christina (Andre) Curry both of Huntsville, AL; five grandchildren, Ayanna, Brendan, Kristofer, Andre, Jr. and Khyla; three sisters, Eula Evans and Jessica Smith of Enterprise, AL and Mary (Eddie) Dillard of Atlanta, Georgia; seven brothers, James Smith, Johnny (Olivia) Smith, Joe Smith, Fred Smith of Enterprise, AL, Curtis (Bonnie) Smith, Charles (Deborah) Smith of Huntsville, AL, George (Ruby) Smith of Kannapolis, North Carolina; four aunts; one uncle and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from the Madkins Chapel C.P. Church at 2403 Oakwood Road with Reverend Dr. Mitchell Walker officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
