Thomas N. Cannon, a life-long Medford resident, Thursday at his Medford home, after a long illness. He was 61.
Born and raised in Medford, Thomas was the son of the late James and M. Evelyn (Johns) Cannon. After high school and two years at Boston State College, Tom enlisted in the US Army and served in combat as a medic in the Vietnam War. After his return, Thomas worked many years as a benefit’s counselor with the Veterans Administration. He was a member of VFW Post 1012, Medford.
He was the beloved father of Brian Cannon and his wife Melanie of Whitinville, Colleen Kearin and her husband Scot of Grafton. He was a loving grandfather to Casey, Lexis, Kayla, Matthew and Shelby. He was the dear former husband of Linda (Collins) Cannon of Medford. He was a devoted brother to Charles Cannon of Bridgewater, Eileen Cannon Amburg of Hudson, NH, Arthur R. Cannon of Woburn and the late Carol Cannon Goldman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
