GREENWICH, CT: Edna J. (Arlanson) Murch, 100, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on August 15, 2007 at the Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, Connecticut following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur S. Murch, Jr., who died in November of 1996.
Born in Lynn on January 10, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Anderson) Arlanson. She had been a longtime resident of Gloucester before moving to Rye, New York in 2004.
While in Gloucester, she was an active volunteer in the community with the Girl Scouts of America, Trinity Congregational Church and the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Duane S., husband of Sunny S. Biasi of Darien, CT, Lynne W., wife of Robert L. Caldwell of Wilton, CT, and Kristen M. White of Alexandria, VA, and four great-grandchildren, Davis S. and Georgia E. Biasi, Emma K. and Anne S. Caldwell. She was also predeceased by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Bette L. Biasi, Janet M. and David L. White, her grandson, David L. White, Jr. and a brother, Harry Arlanson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday in the Trinity Congregational Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Trinity Congregational Church, 70 Middle St., Gloucester, MA 01930 or the American Stroke Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688. Interment will be held privately in the Mt. Adnah Cemetery.
