Mariette H.Gilroy, 71, of High Service Avenue, died of uterine cancer on Monday, September 18, 2007 at her home. She was the wife of Robert J. Gilroy. They were married for 49 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Lydia (Garceau) Bourcier.
She had been a licensed real estate broker for many years. Until her retirement in 2000, she was associated with Jack Quirk Realtors.
Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters: Maryellen Gilroy of Berlin, NY; Susan M. Gilroy of Cambridge, MA; Caroline M. Gilroy-Brown of North Providence; and Elizabeth M. Gilroy of West Palm Beach, FL; a son in law, Thomas S. Brown; two grandchildren, Matthew T. and Meredith D. Brown, and a sister, Rose Marie Robertson of North Providence. She was the sister of the late John P., Louis J., Albert J., and James R. Bourcier.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. Visitation Friday 4-8pm.
