Obituary

BEVERLY: John G. Dionne, 60, died unexpectedly, Monday, September 17, 2007 in the Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of Gail A. (Kaminski) Dionne
Born in Salem on May 2, 1947, he was the son of Margaret “Peggy” Savard of Salem and the late Emile Dionne. He had resided in Salem for many years before moving to Beverly thirty years ago. He was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1965 and Bentley College. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged on September 4, 1975.
John was employed as an accountant for the Defense Contract Audit Agency of the U.S. Government for over thirty years before retiring in 2003. An avid sailor, he was a longtime member of the Palmer Cove Yacht Club.
In addition to his wife of thirty-eight years and his mother, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Marc Spinale of Hancock, NH, a son, Christopher J. Dionne of Salem, four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Margaret Dionne of Hingham, Mary and Daniel Matheson of Richmond, VA, Patricia and Wayne Dickenson of Newington, CT and Doris and Frank Nadeau of Red Lion, PA, a sister-in-law, Lisa Kaminski and her husband, Jack Nash of Salisbury, an aunt, Trudy Cuetara of Wellesley, his stepfather, Gene Savard of Salem and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday evening in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
