Obituary

Gustave H. Murby Jr. - of Medfield, September 16, 2007, after a valiant 5-year fight against leukemia. Age 17.

Beloved son of Gustave H. and Jean (O’Brien) Murby. Brother of Dan, Matthew and Ethan. Grandson of Bernice O’Brien of Lexington and the late Edward O’Brien, Virginia Murby of Seekonk and the late Ernest J. Murby. Nephew of Edward O’Brien Jr. of Woburn, David O’Brien of Lexington, Elaine O’Brien of Beverly, Richard O’Brien of Dracut, Erik Murby of North Scituate, RI, and Sanna Huebschmann of Malone, WI.

Gus was a proud member of Medfield High School’s Class of 2008. He swam for the Dover-Sherborn-Medfield Swim Team and was a Life Scout in Medfield Troop 89. Gus was an avid fisherman, who also enjoyed tennis and skiing, as well as history and art. He was a caring big brother to his three younger brothers and a wonderful son. Gus will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His courage and perseverance in the face of adversity will continue to shine brightly in all our lives. We love you, Gus.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, on Friday at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St. (Rt. 27), Medfield, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield.
