SALEM, MA - Sally J. (Winding) Morency, 79, of Haverhill, formerly of Salem, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence. She was the wife of the late Herbert E. Morency.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Iva (Cunningham) Winding. Sally was raised and educated in Waukegan, IL and graduated from Northwestern with a degree in physical education.
A resident of Salem for over 40 years before moving to Haverhill in 2005, she was a communicant of the St. Thomas The Apostle Church, where she sang in the choir.
Prior to her retirement in the early 1990's, Sally was employed for many years at the former Bill’s Variety Store on North Street, Salem, at Moody Square.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Morency of Haverhill and with whom she resided, Margaret & her husband Daniel Gallagher of Billerica, three grandchildren, Caitlin, Patrick & Brian Gallagher, all of Billerica and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 21, 2007 at 9 am form the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a memorial mass at 10 am at the St. Thomas The Apostle Church, North St., Route 114 at the Salem-Peabody line. A committal service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours are Thursday evening, 6 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
