Obituary

Louis E. Farese, of Medford, a retired developer died at home Sunday in the company of his loving family. He was 82.

Lou was born and raised in East Cambridge, the son of the late Erasimo and the late Augusta Farese. He served in the Navy during World War II and participated in the beach landings at Normandy. He worked for many years at Mass. Metal Works in South Boston and prepared and designed fabricated metals. A member of the MDC Police, he retired in the 1970’s after years of service on the Charles River. A licensed real estate broker, Lou was also a registered builder and real estate developer in the Boston Area.


He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Giovannangelo). He was a devoted father to Robert Farese and his wife Susan of Medford, Richard Farese and his wife Rosanne of N. Andover, Michelle Mangano and her husband Dr. Mark of Hopkinton and the late Geraldine Farese. He was a loving grandfather to Jennifer, Robert, Rachel, Eric, Damon, Alexander, Gabrielle, Louis, Victoria, Matthew, and Gianna. He was a dear brother to Elio Farese and his wife Terry of Fla., the late Jean Wright and Phyllis Weed. He was the brother-in-law of Ann Farese and Frank Giovannangelo. He was the uncle of Janice, Elaine, Carol, Dennis, Gerald and the late Thomas.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Thursday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
