William T. Crosby, Jr., of Garden Avenue, Smithfield, died on Saturday, September 16, 2007, his 89th birthday at the RI Veteran’s Home in Bristol. He was the husband of the late Alice (Copley) Crosby.
Born in North Providence, a son of the late William T. and Elizabeth (Howard) Crosby. He had lived in Greenville for 45 years previously living in Johnston. Mr. Crosby had been employed with the former Mine Safety in Smithfield for 37 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of WW II and member of the Smithfield Sportsman’s Club.
He leaves a son, William D. Crosby of Smithfield, a daughter, Cynthia A. (Parrillo) McAley of Johnston, his grandchildren, Christopher Parrillo, Nathan T. and Seth D. Crosby and Bethany Trahan and 5 great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Vincent Crosby.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906.
