Ms. Pauline Julia Mastacouris, 73, of Lowell, died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Aug. 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Petros and Panoria (Kitsakos) Mastacouris. Pauline was educated in the Dracut, Mass., Public Schools.
She was employed for 38 years at Raytheon Co., in Andover, Mass., as an executive secretary. After her retirement, she became an active member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut. Part of her involvement in the Church included creating and maintaining the Church's website. Pauline enjoyed cooking, computers, playing the Bouzouki, and an occasional trip to Foxwoods Casino with her two sisters.
She is survived by her Godchild, Noreen Costopoulos, and her niece, Debbie Costopoulos whom she resided with; a sister, Francis Themelis of Lowell; and Godchildren, Pamela Themelis and Stephen Mastacouris of Lowell; sister-in-laws, Catherine Mastacouris of Dracut, and Cleo Mastacouris of New York City; along with several nieces and nephews. Pauline was also the sister of the late Charles P. Mastacouris, Tessie and James Costopoulos with whom she made her home with. She was also the loving sister of the late Pota Babaletos, Anthe Tsegounis, Frieda Livanos, Nicholas, James, John and Charles C. Mastacouris.
Friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Dracut at 10 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery,Lowell.
