TEWKSBURY - Mary R. (Drogo) BenDavid, age 91, a former technician for an aerospace manufacturer, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at her Carnation Drive home, following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Alfred BenDavid, who died in 1986.
She was born in the Roxbury section of Boston on May 22, 1916, and raised there. She lived in Stoneham and Lowell before moving to Tewksbury in 1984.
She was employed as a cable/harness technician for the R.C.A. company in Bedford, and had the honor of working on the Apollo Space Mission.
In recent years, she was active in crafting classes at the Wilmington Senior Drop-In Center.
Mrs. BenDavid was a member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, and a member of the Martha Mary Church Group.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Adeline and Richard Winchester of Tewksbury, Dolores McDonald of Lithonia, GA; a son, Edward Drogo of Manchester, NH; a sister, Frances Loffrado of FL, ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; three cousins, Jim Scibetta of CA, Croce Scibetta of AZ, and Frances Wallack; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Mary Palermo and James Drogo.
Her Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 11:00 a.m. in the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, corner of Main St (Rte 38) and South St. in So. Tewksbury. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Kindly omit flowers. Memorials to charity of your choice will be appreciated.
