BEVERLY: Laurie A. (Dennehy) Russo, 43, died Friday, September 14, 2007 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Gary E. Russo.
Born in Lynn on July 7, 1964, she was the daughter of Diane M. (Marshall) Rogers of Beverly and Thomas F. Dennehy, Jr. of New Hampshire. Laurie had resided in Wakefield for several years before moving to Beverly in 1978. She was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1982.
Laurie wanted to be remembered as a loving wife and caring mother and a person with a sense of humor who was there for her friends when they needed her.
In addition to her husband of eighteen years and her parents, she is survived by her twins, Shayna N. and Hunter C. Russo, 3rd grade students at Hannah Elementary School, an aunt, Anna Dean of Falmouth, an uncle, Frank R. Marshall, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA and many cousins. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Arthur D. Rogers who died in 1994.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. At the family’s request, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA or to the “Laurie Russo Memorial Fund” c/o Danversbank, 1 Conant St., Danvers, MA 01923.
