Helen Bieszczad, 100, of Olyphant, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter in Montdale. She was the widow of John Bieszczad. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Bieszczad.
Born in Olyphant on Oct. 23, 1906, daughter of the late Charles and Clara Pruzinsky Nemetz, she was a homemaker and a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant.
She recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at Heart Lake Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie Blackburn, Montdale; two sons, Joseph Bieszczad and wife, Helene, Olyphant; and Ronald Bieszczad and wife, Sharon, Keller, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Eric and John Blackburn, Laura Calderon, Diana Slangan, Maura Boyarsky, Joseph Bieszczad, Elise Arzie, Dawn Bieszczad, Michael Bieszczad, Jennifer Hale and Tara Bieszczad; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in Holy Ghost Church. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Township.
