Bernice M. (Ferguson) Higgins, 89, of Bridgewater, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Life Care of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late John F. Higgins.
Born Oct. 9, 1917, in Whitman, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Laura (Wilson) Ferguson.
Raised in Whitman, she had lived in Winthrop, ME, for 22 years before moving to Bridgewater 3 years ago.
Mrs. Higgins was an assembler at Component Manufacturing for 29 years.
She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, dogs and birds.
She was the wife of the late John F.; mother of Carol Crowley and her husband Bob of Bridgewater; stepmother of Elizabeth Cistaro of Dennis; sister of Priscilla Curro of Statten Island; sister-in-law of Robert and Delores Higgins of Dennis; grandmother of Colleen Drummond and her husband Tom, Christine Crowley and Erin Crowley; great-grandmother of Leah and Tommy. Also survived by 2 nephews and her beloved dog, Greta.
A Memorial service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Saturday at 10 am. Visiting hours omitted.
