Mary J. Ruma, passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, after a extended illness, the wife of the late Joseph C. Ruma, she was eighty-nine years old.
Born and raised in Boston she was the daughter of the late Anna (Strazzula) and Carmello Postizzi. Mrs. Ruma devoted herself to raising her family and being with her grandchildren, she enjoyed her time at the Medford Sr. Citizen Club being with her friends.
She is survived by her two daughters Marie Palumbo and her husband Vincent of Winchester and Ann Cascio of Stoneham; two sons the Honorable Santo J. Ruma and his wife Joan of Winchester and Joseph J. Ruma and his wife Helaine of Andover. Also fourteen loving grandchildren and twentey-seven loving great grandchildren; three sisters Josephine Giordano of Billerica, Connie LaScola and Helen Lanza both of Watertown.
In addition to her husband Joeseph she is predeceased by three brothers Domenic, James, and Joseph Postizzi; two sisters Rose Postizzi and Carmela Passanisi.
Her funeral will be held form the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford on Monday, December 23, at 9 AM, Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford at 10.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Sunday 3 thru 8. Services will Conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Medford.
