Rev. William A. Borrows, 77, of New Bedford died December 13, 2001 at Taber Street Nursing Home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Lillian (Stanley) Borrows and son of the late William and Martha (Molineaux) Borrows.
Rev. Borrows was born in Rock Island, Illinois and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada before moving to New Bedford in 1969.
He served in the 39th Field Battery of the Canadian Army in Europe, during World War II.
In 1969, he became pastor of the Calvary Assembly of God on the corner of Sawyer and County Streets. In 1973, he built the Christian Fellowship Center on Church St. in New Bedford where he served as pastor for over 31 years.
He enjoyed horses and reading western novels.
Survivors include a son, Daryle W. Borrows and his wife Sue, of New Bedford; and 2 grandchildren, Ricky Borrows and Stephanie Borrows.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Christian Fellowship Center, 818 Church St., New Bedford, Monday December 17th at 10 AM. Visiting hours at the Christian Fellowship Center Sunday 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Interment Rural Cemetery.
