DRACUT- Lorraine L. (Descheneaux) Ducharme, 89, a resident of Dracut, died Saturday September 8th, at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert V. Ducharme who died in 1978.
She was born in Lowell on April 19, 1918, a daughter of the late Alberic and Eva (Dumont) Descheneaux. She received her education in Lowell schools.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Ducharme was the owner and operator along with her family of the former Dad and the Boys Restaurant in Chelmsford. While there she helped in all facets of the business including cooking and waitressing. After her retirement, she was involved in her late daughter Diane's bed and breakfast, Ferry Point House in Sanbornton, NH. Earlier in her career she was in electronics and had worked for Raytheon in South Lowell, and for Honeywell in Lowell
She is survived by a daughter Suzanne Lumia of Hudson, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Clarisse and Raymond G. Paquin of Dracut; a son-in-law Joseph Damato of Sanbornton, NH; four grandchildren Kim Silva of Hudson, NH, Eric Damato of Sanbornton, NH, Anthony Lumia of Nashua, NH, and Danielle Johnson of San Francisco, CA; four great grandchildren Alyse Damato, Joseph Damato, Michael Silva, and Ashley Silva; a niece and a nephew Jeanine Goedde of Londonderry, NH, and Paul Paquin of Dracut.
She was also the mother of the late Diane Damato.
It being her wishes calling hours have been omitted. A private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT.
