Mary "Marie" (Herlihy) Castor, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Annemark Nursing Home in Revere following a brief illness. She was 86 years old.
Marie was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. Marie has been a homemaker most of her life.
Marie is the beloved wife of the late John J. Castor (Ret. Div. 7, B.P.D.) She is the devoted mother of Marie Castor of Charlestown, Jane Castor of Revere, Marjorie Doyle and her husband Phillip of Virginia, Philip Castor (B.P.D.) and his wife Kerry of West Roxbury and the late John Castor Jr. and Nancy Froempter. She is the loving grandmother of Casey and Caroline Doyle, John Feeney, Philip, Jack and Caitlyn Castor. She is the beloved sister of the late Margaret Sullivan, Anna Harkins, Elizabeth Honohan, William, Daniel and Joseph Herlihy.
Marie's Funeral will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Marie will be held on Sunday September 9, 2007 from 3 to 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
